General Information
Overview
EN IEC 60794-1-404:2022 (IEC 60794-1-404) defines the current–temperature test (Method H4) for hybrid overhead cables known as optical phase conductors (OPPC). OPPCs are stranded, bare metallic conductors that include optical fibres and are exposed to the environment. This standard specifies the test setup, environmental conditions, sample preparation, monitoring methods and pass/fail criteria used to verify optical performance and temperature behaviour of OPPCs under maximum current loading.
