This document (EN 13480-4:2024/prA1:2025) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 267
“Industrial piping and pipelines”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This document is currently submitted to the CEN Enquiry.
This document has been prepared under a standardization request addressed to CEN by the European
Commission. The Standing Committee of the EFTA States subsequently approves these requests for its
Member States.
For the relationship with EU Legislation, see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of
EN 13480-4:2024.
This document includes the text of the amendment itself. This amendment will be consolidated within
EN 13480-4:2024 in accordance with the maintenance system of EN 13480 series approved by the
CEN/BT Decision C172/2021.
1 Modifications to Clause 2, "Normative references"
Add the following normative references:

Replace the following normative reference:

2 Modifications to Clause 3, “Terms and definitions”
Add the new following terms:

pressfitting system; the pressfitting supplier may or may not be the fabricator of the connection in the
piping system

person performing pressfitting connections on pipe work qualified by training with the equipment to be
used for work
Note 1 to entry: Currently, there are no Standards available on qualification of personnel for pressfitting
connections.".
3 Modifications to 5.6, “Tolerances”
Replace the content of subclause 5.6 with the following:
“A distinction shall be made between tolerances for complete piping systems and sections of piping
systems and tolerances for prefabricated spools.
Complete piping systems or sections of piping systems shall, with regard to their general tolerances,
correspond to the tolerances:
— for length dimensions of tolerance class C according to EN ISO 13920:2023, Table 1;
— for angular dimensions of tolerance class C acco
