Ta dokument se uporablja za sisteme kotne modulacije s konstantno ovojnico v storitvi kopenskih mobilnih komunikacij, ki uporabljajo razpoložljivo pasovno širino, delujejo prek radijskih frekvenc med 30 MHz in 1 GHz, vključujejo medkanalske razmike 12,5 kHz, 20 kHz in 25 kHz ter so namenjeni za oddajanje in/ali sprejemanje signalov, ki se uporabljajo za vzbujanje specifičnega odziva v sprejemniku. Ta dokument se uporablja za negovorno opremo in negovorni del kombinirane govorno-negovorne analogne opreme. V tem dokumentu je negovorna radijska oprema opredeljena kot radijska oprema, ki oddaja signal za vzbujanje specifičnega odziva v sprejemniku. • bazna postaja: oprema z antensko vtičnico;
• mobilna postaja: oprema z antensko vtičnico;
• prenosne postaje:
a) z antensko vtičnico ali
b) brez zunanje antenske vtičnice (vgrajene antene), vendar s stalnim ali začasnim notranjim 50-ohmskim radiofrekvenčnim (RF) konektorjem, ki omogoča dostop do izhoda oddajnika in vhoda sprejemnika.
Ta dokument ne zajema prenosne opreme brez zunanjega ali notranjega RF-konektorja in brez možnosti namestitve začasnega notranjega 50-ohmskega RF-konektorja. Vgrajena antena je obravnavana v standardu ETSI EN 300 341 [i.1] (glej ustrezno področje uporabe).
Ta dokument vsebuje zahteve, s katerimi se dokazuje, da »... je radijska oprema sestavljena tako, da učinkovito uporablja in tudi podpira učinkovito uporabo radijskega spektra z namenom preprečevanja škodljivih motenj« ter da »... radijska oprema podpira določene funkcije, ki zagotavljajo dostop do storitev za nujne primere« [i.5].
Poleg tega dokumenta se za opremo na področju uporabe tega dokumenta lahko uporabljajo tudi drugi standardi EN, ki določajo tehnične zahteve v zvezi z bistvenimi zahtevami iz drugih delov 3. člena direktive o radijski opremi [i.5].
