Digitalne izboljšane brezvrvične telekomunikacije (DECT) - Skupni vmesnik (CI) - 4. del: Plast krmiljenja podatkovnih povezav (DLC)
Ta dokument določa plast krmiljenja podatkovnih povezav (DLC).
General Information
Overview
ETSI EN 300 175-4 V2.5.1 (2013-08) defines the Data Link Control (DLC) layer of the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) Common Interface (CI). As layer 2b of the DECT protocol stack, this standard specifies the DLC (sub)layer functions, services and formats that enable reliable transfer of both signalling and user data between DECT entities. The document also incorporates New Generation DECT enhancements such as wideband speech, improved data services and new slot types.
Key topics and technical requirements
The standard organizes the DLC around two separate planes and provides detailed protocol elements:
- C-plane (Control plane)
- Reliable point-to-point data link service (LAPC + Lc) for DECT signalling and NWK-layer messages.
- A point-to-multipoint broadcast service (Lb) for network-wide information.
- U-plane (User plane)
- End-to-end user information services implemented as a family of independent circuit-mode and packet-mode services.
- Services range from unprotected, low-delay links suitable for real-time speech to highly protected, variable-delay links for LAN-like data.
- Frame structures and transparency - formats for information, address, control, length, fill and checksum fields for C-plane frames.
- Procedures and primitives - link establishment, release, suspend/resume, data transfer primitives to MAC and NWK layers (S‑SAP, B‑SAP, LUX‑SAP), and error handling primitives.
- Sequence control and flow control - multiple frame operation, sequence numbering (V(S), V(A), V(R)), supervisory/unnumbered functions and Poll/Final (P/F) use.
- Management - Lower Layer Management Entity (LLME) interactions and service modification primitives.
- Standards alignment - layered model terminology per ITU‑T X.200 and X.210; integration with DECT CI and New Generation DECT features.
Practical applications and who uses it
This standard is essential for professionals designing, testing and integrating DECT-based voice and data systems:
- DECT device manufacturers (handsets, base stations, repeaters) implementing DLC for signalling and user channels.
- Firmware and protocol engineers developing LAPC/Lc implementations and U‑plane services.
- System integrators and network designers deploying cordless telephony and DECT-based data links (including wideband speech services).
- Test labs and certification bodies performing conformance testing against DECT CI layer 2b requirements.
- Product managers planning performance profiles (low-delay voice vs. highly protected data) for DECT deployments.
