Textile floor coverings - Classification of pile carpets
The European standard describes and specifies wall to wall pile carpets and tiles including use-classification according to wear and appearance retention and a classification for comfort. This standard applies to all machine made pile carpets in accordance with ISO 2424 (except needled pile carpets). This standard is also applicable to tiles with their specific characteristics (adhered tiles or removable loose lay tiles); the additional requirements for tiles are given in annex A of the present standard. This Standard is not applicable to rugs which will be dealt with in a separate standard.

Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt Polteppichböden unf Fliesen. Sie trifft Festlegungen bezüglich der Gebrauchseinstufung unter Berücksichtigung von Verschleiss und Aussehenserhalt sowie der Komforteinstufung. Diese Norm ist auf alle maschienengefertigten Polteppiche in Ubereinstimmung mit ISO 2424 (mit Ausnahme von Nadelvliesbodenbelägen) anwendbar. Diese Norm ist ebenso anwendbar auf Fliesen mit ihren besonderen Eigenschaften (geklebte Fliesen oder wiederaufnehmebare, lose auslegbare Fliesen); die zusätzlichen Anforderungen für Fliesen sind in Anhang A der vorliegenden Norm enthalten.
Revêtements de sol textiles - Classement d'usage des moquettes
La présente norme européenne décrit et spécifie les moquettes mur à mur et les dalles. Elle comprend la classification de l'usage en fonction de la résistance à l'usure et de la conservation d'aspect ainsi qu'une classification du confort. Cette norme s'applique à toutes les moquettes fabriquées à la machine selon l'ISO 2424 (à l'exception des moquettes aiguilletées). Cette norme est aussi applicable aux dalles avec leurs caractéristiques propres (dalles collées ou dalles plombantes amovibles); les exigences supplémentaires des dalles sont données dans l'annexe A de la présente norme.
