This standard specifies specific safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of all sugar beet and fodder beet harvesting machines trailed, mounted or self-propelled which carry out one or more of the following operations : leaf stripping, topping, lifting, picking-up, cleaning, conveying and unloading of beet. This standard is not applicable to cleaner-loaders which operate from a heap of beet. In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer.

Diese Norm gilt nicht für Reinigungslader, die an einer Rübenmiete betrieben werden. Außerdem gibt sie Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten, die vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.

La présente norme détermine les prescriptions spécifiques de sécurité et les vérifications pour la conception et la construction des machines de récolte des betteraves à sucre et fourragères traînées, portées ou automotrices qui effectuent une ou plusieurs des opérations suivantes : effeuillage, décolletage, arrachage, ramassage, nettoyage, convoyage et déchargement des betteraves. Elle ne s'applique pas aux nettoyeuses-chargeuses de betteraves en tas. En outre, elle spécifie le type d'informations que le fabricant doit donner sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre.
