This document specifies the conditions for obtaining reproducible and comparable measurement results of the airborne sound emitted by vessels of all kinds, on inland waterways and in ports and harbours, except powered recreational craft as specified in the ISO 14509 series. This document is applicable to sea-going vessels, harbour vessels, dredgers, and all watercraft, including non-displacement craft, used or capable of being used as a means of transport on water. There are no limitations to the application of this document with regard to speed, length and height of vessels, as long as the ship is determined to act like a point source at the reference distance of 25 m.
All noise data obtained in accordance with this document are referred to a reference distance of 25 m.

Dieses Dokument legt die Bedingungen für reproduzierbare und vergleichbare Messungen des von Wasserfahrzeugen aller Art, außer motorgetriebenen Sportbooten nach der Normenreihe ISO 14509, auf Binnengewässern und in Binnen und Seehäfen abgestrahlten Luftschalls fest. Dieses Dokument ist auf seetüchtige Wasserfahrzeuge, in Häfen betriebene Wasserfahrzeuge, Schwimmbagger und all jene Wasserfahrzeuge, einschließlich solcher ohne Verdrängungsfahrt, anwendbar, die als Transportmittel auf dem Wasser eingesetzt werden oder dazu verwendet werden können. Es gibt keine Einschränkungen in der Anwendung dieses Dokuments hinsichtlich der Geschwindigkeit, Länge und Höhe der Wasserfahrzeuge, solange das Wasserfahrzeug sich wie eine Punktquelle im Referenzabstand von 25 m verhält.
Alle nach diesem Dokument ermittelten Geräuschmesswerte beziehen sich auf einen Referenzabstand von 25 m.

Le présent document spécifie les conditions d'obtention de résultats de mesurage reproductibles et comparables du bruit aérien émis par les bateaux de tous types, sur les voies de navigation intérieure et portuaire, excepté par les bateaux de plaisance motorisés tels que spécifiés dans la série ISO 14509. Le présent document est applicable aux navires de mer, aux bateaux de service, aux dragueurs et à tous les bateaux, incluant ceux à l'amarrage, utilisés ou pouvant être utilisés comme moyens de transport sur l'eau. Le présent document s'applique à tous les bateaux quelles que soient leur vitesse, leur longueur et leur hauteur, dans la mesure où il est déterminé que le bateau agit comme une source ponctuelle à la distance de référence de 25 m.

This document (EN ISO 2922:2020) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 43 "Acoustics"
in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 211 “Acoustics” the secretariat of which is held by
DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2021, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by June 2021.
