Domestic furniture - Seating - Determination of stability
This European Standard specifies methods for the determination of the stability of all types of domestic seating which can be used by adults. For seating that can be converted into beds, it applies only to the seating configuration. Chair stability can be determined by either the experimental or the calculative method. These methods are compatible in that they apply the same forces at the same positions. If the result of the calculative method is uncertain or marginal the result should be checked, if possible, by the experimental method.

Diese Europäische Norm spezifiziert Verfahren zur Festlegung der Standsicherheit für alle Arten von Sitzmöbeln im Wohnbereich, die von Erwachsenen benutzt werden können. Bei Sitzmöbeln, die zu einem Bett umwandelbar sind, gilt sie nur für die Sitzfunktion. Die Standsicherheit von Sitzmöbeln kann entweder durch das experimentelle Verfahren oder durch das rechnerische Verfahren bestimmt werden. Diese Methoden sind vereinbar, wenn sie dieselben Kräften auf dieselben Punkte auftragen.

Le présent projet de norme européenne spécifie des méthodes pour la détermination de la stabilité de tous les types de sièges à usage domestique, qui peuvent être utilisés par des adultes. Pour les sièges convertibles en lit, elle ne s'applique que dans la configuration en position siège. La stabilité des sièges peut être déterminée soit par la méthode par expérimentation, soit par la méthode par le calcul.
