EN 379:1994
(Main)Specification for welding filters with switchable luminous transmittance and welding filters with dual luminous transmittance
Specification for welding filters with switchable luminous transmittance and welding filters with dual luminous transmittance
This European Standard specifies requirements for welding filters which automatically switch their luminous transmittance to a lower value when a welding arc is ignited (referred to as welding filters with switchable scale numbers). The requirements of this standard apply if such a filter is to be used for continuous viewing of the welding process and if it is to be used only during the period when the arc is being ignited. This standards also specifies requirements for welding filters with zones of differing luminous transmittance (referred to as welding filters with dual scale number). These filters are used in welders' eye protectors (as specified in standards in preparation or are fixed to equipment).

EN 379:1994 is classified under the following ICS (International Classification for Standards) categories: 13.340.20 - Head protective equipment. The ICS classification helps identify the subject area and facilitates finding related standards.
EN 379:1994 has the following relationships with other standards: It is inter standard links to EN 379:2003, EN 379:1994/A1:1998. Understanding these relationships helps ensure you are using the most current and applicable version of the standard.
EN 379:1994 is associated with the following European legislation: EU Directives/Regulations: 89/686/EEC; Standardization Mandates: M/BC/CEN/88/5. When a standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, products manufactured in conformity with it benefit from a presumption of conformity with the essential requirements of the corresponding EU directive or regulation.
