This European standard specifies test methods for determining the strength, durability and stability of all types of domestic tables without regard to materials, design/construction or manufacturing processes. The tests are designed to be applied to an article of furniture that is fully assembled and ready for use. Not all tests are necessarily applicable to all types of tables. This European standard does not apply to outdoor tables and changing tables, for which specific standards exist. Test methods for the assessment of ageing and degradation are not included.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren fest, mit denen Festigkeit, Dauerhaltbarkeit und Standsicherheit aller Arten von Tischen für den Wohnbereich bestimmt werden, ungeachtet des Materials, der Gestaltung/Konstruktion oder des Herstellungsverfahrens. Die Prüfungen sind für vollständig zusammengebaute, gebrauchsfertige Möbelstücke entwickelt worden. Nicht jede Prüfung ist zwingend für alle Arten von Tischen anwendbar. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Außentische und Wickeleinrichtungen, für die es eigene Normen gibt. Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung von Alterung und Verwitterung sind nicht enthalten.

La présente Norme Européenne décrit des méthodes d'essai pour la détermination de la résistance, de la durabilité et de la stabilité de tous les types de tables à usage domestique, à l'exception des tables à langer, quels que soient les matériaux, la conception/construction et les procédés de fabrication. Les essais sont destinés à être appliqués à des meubles entièrement montés et prêts à l'emploi. Les essais ne sont pas obligatoirement applicables à tous les types de tables. La présente EN ne s'applique pas aux tables d'extérieur et aux tables à langer pour lesquelles il existe des normes spécifiques.
