This European Standard specifies test methods and requirements determining the structural stength and durability of the structure of all types of ranked seating, (e.g. stadium and auditorium seating) which are permanently fastened to the floor and/or walls, whether in bench or individual seat form. A table of tests with four choices of loads is included. This standard applies to seating permanently fixed in ranks but does not apply to linked upright chairs not fastened to the floor and/or walls. Assessment of ageing, degradation and the effect of ambient temperature are not included.

Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Festigkeit und Dauerhaltbarkeit der Konstruktion aller Arten von Stadien- und Ausitoriensitzen, die dauerhaft am Boden und/oder an Wänden befestigt sind, ob als Sitzreihenbank oder als Einzelsitz. In einer Tabelle sind Prüfungen mit vier verschiedenen Belastungsfällen angegeben. Diese Norm gilt für dauerhaft in Reihen befestigte Sitzmöbel, jedoch nicht für freistehende mieinander verbundene Stühle, die nicht am Boden befestigt sind.

La présente norme européenne fixe des méthodes d'essai et des exigences pour la détermination de la résistance et de la durabilité de la structure de tous les types de sièges en rangées (ex. sièges pour stades et auditorium) qui sont fixés de façon permanente au sol et/ou au mur, soit en banquettes, soit individuellement. Un tableau d'essai présentant quatre choix de charges est inclus. La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux sièges droits assemblés non fixés au sol et/ou au mur.
