Domestic furniture - Storage furniture - Safety requirements and test methods
This European standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for all types of domestic storage furniture including those with glass in their construction. Safety depending on the structure of the building is not included e.g. the strength of wall hanging cabinets includes only the cabinet and its parts. The wall and the fixing in the wall is not included. It is intended to prevent serious injury through normal functional use, as well as misuse that might reasonably be expected to occur.

Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für alle Arten von Schränken und Regalen für den Wohnbereich, ausschließlich KüChenmöbel (siehe EN 1153), fest. Sicherheit, die von der Gebäudestruktur abhängig ist, ist jedoch nicht eingeschlossen, so gelten die Anforderungen an die Festigkeit bei an der Wand befestigten Shränken nur für den Schrank und seine Einzelteile. Die Wand selbst sowie die wandseitigen Befestigungsmittel sind nicht von der Norm betroffen.

La présente norme européenne fixe des exigences de sécurité et méthodes d'essaispour tous les types de meubles de rangement à usage domestique, y compris ceux incorporant du verre dans leur construction. La sécurité liée à la structure du bâtiment n'est pas incluse, par exemple, la résistance des meubles accrochés aumur comprend uniquement le meuble et ses éléments. Le mur et les fixations dans le mur ne sont pas inclus. Elle est destinée à éviter toute blessure sérieuse lors d'une utilisation normale ainsi que lors d'une utilisation anormale raisonnablement prévisible.
