" La présente Norme européenne établit un système de classification des revêtements de sol résilients et stratifiés. La classification est basée sur des niveaux d'exigences en fonction des zones d'utilisation et de l'intensité d'usage ; elle est liée aux exigences fixées dans les Normes européennes spécifiques à chaque type de revêtement de sol résilient ou stratifié.
La présente norme européenne est aussi destinée à servir de guide aux fabricants, aux spécificateurs et aux consommateurs pour leur permettre de choisir la classe appropriée de revêtement de sol résilient ou stratifié en fonction d'une zone d'utilisation donnée ou d'un local particulier.
NOTE   L'usure et l'aspect des revêtements de sol résilients et stratifiés sont influencés par les normes de mise en �uvre et de maintenance, l'état du support et le type d'utilisation (type de chaussures, fortes concentrations de trafic localisé, etc.). Il convient que ces facteurs soient pris en compte lors de l'utilisation de ce système de classification ".

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 685:1995; it was approved by CEN on 17 January 2003.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this
amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such
national standards may be obtained on application to the Management Centre or to any CEN member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.
