Motorcyclists' protective clothing against mechanical impact — Part 3: Motorcyclists' chest protectors - Requirements and test methods
This European Standard specifies the minimum coverage to be provided by motorcyclists’ chest protectors. This European Standard contains the requirements for the performance of the protectors under impact and details of the test methods, requirements for sizing, ergonomic requirements, and requirements for innocuousness, labelling and the provision of information.
Note that this European Standard defines a product which provides limited protection against mechanical impacts and falls to the chest. If the product is only intended to protect against lofted stones (commonly used in Motocross riding) readers are invited to refer to EN 14021:2003 instead.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Mindestabdeckung fest, die durch Brustprotektoren für Motorradfahrer bereitzustellen sind. Die Norm enthält Anforderungen bezüglich der Leistung des Protektors bei einem Aufprall, Einzelheiten zu den Prüfverfahren sowie Anforderungen an die Größenbestimmung, Ergonomie, Unschädlichkeit, Kennzeichnung und Informationsbereitstellung.
Es ist zu beachten, dass diese Norm ein Produkt festlegt, dass nur einen begrenzten Schutz gegen einen mechanische Aufprall und Stürze auf die Brust bereitstellt. Falls das Produkt nur dafür vorgesehen ist, gegen hochgeschleuderte Steine zu schützen (allgemein verwendet bei Motocross-Fahrten), werden die Leser stattdessen an EN 14021:2003 verwiesen.

Motorcyclists’ chest protectors shall provide a minimum zone of protection. For full chest protectors this is defined in Figure 1a, and for divided chest protectors in Figure 1b. Dimensions are provided in Table 1.
