Anaesthetic workstations and their modules - Particular requirements
Clause 1 of EN 60601-1: 1990 applies with the following amendment: This European Standard provides particular requirements for modules which, although considered as individual devices in their own right, may be utilized, in conjunction with other relevant devices, to form an anaesthetic workstation to a given specification. It is the intent of this European Standard that both anaesthetic workstations supplied complete and individual modules be commercially available to users to allow the configuration of an anaesthetic workstation to meet the needs of their clinical practice.

Abschnitt 1 von EN 60601-1:1990 gilt zusammen mit der folgenden Ergänzung: Diese Europäische Norm legt besondere Anforderungen an Module fest, die als einzelne, eigenständige Geräte gelten, aber in Verbindung mit anderen relevanten Geräten nach einer bestimmten Spezifikation einen Anästhesie-Arbeitsplatz bilden können. Es ist das Ziel dieser Europäischen Norm, den Betreibern zu ermöglichen, komplett gelieferte Anästhesie-Arbeitsplätze ebenso zu erwerben wie einzelne Module, die die Zusammenstellung eines Anästhesie-Arbeitsplatzes nach den Bedürfnissen der jeweiligen klinischen Praxis gestatten.
