Testing fresh concrete - Part 2: Slump test
The slump test is sensitive to changes in the consistency of concrete which corresponds to slumps between 10 mm and 200 mm. Beyond these extremes the measurement of slump may be unsuitable and other methods of determining the consistency should be considered. If the slump continues to change over a period of 1 m after de-moulding, the slump test is not suitable as a measure of consistency. The test may not be suitable when the maximum size of aggregate in the concrete is greater than 40 mm.

La présente norme européenne spécifie une méthode de détermination de la consistance du béton frais par l'essai d'affaissement. L'essai d'affaissement est sensible aux modifications de la consistance du béton correspondant à des affaissements compris entre 10 mm et 200 mm. En dehors de ces limites, la mesure de l'affaissement peut être inadaptée et il convient d'envisager d'autre méthodes de détermination de la consistance. Si l'affaissement évolue dans la minute suivant le démoulage, cet essai n'est pas adapté à la mesure de la cosistance.
