IEC/TC 48 - Electrical connectors and mechanical structures for electrical and electronic equipment
Standardization of electric connectors, connecting devices and mechanical structures for electronic and electrical equipment. Note 1: RF connectors will not be dealt with by the technical committee as they will be covered by TC 46 together with RF cables. However, hybrid connectors, which employ RF contacts, will be handled by TC 48. They will use the appropriate test methods, terminology etc. defined by TC 46 and TC 86 documents. Note 2 : Sockets for components shall be considered in co-operation with the relevant technical committee. Note 3 : Safety requirements for areas already dealt with by other committees will not be developed by this technical committee.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental international organization that develops and publishes international standards. Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, ISO brings together experts from 170+ member countries to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
A Technical Committee (TC) in ISO is a group of experts responsible for developing international standards in a specific technical area. TCs are composed of national member body delegates and work through consensus to create standards that meet global industry needs. Each TC may have subcommittees (SCs) and working groups (WGs) for specialized topics.
