SC 15E - Methods of test
To develop widely applicable methods for the determination of properties and endurance capabilities of solid electrical and electronic insulating materials alone and in simple combinations. Note: TC15 and its subcommittees strictly understand "simple combination" as insulating materials (e.g. combined flexible materials according to IEC 60626) and not as combinations of insulating materials due to the manufacturing process of electrical devices. This does not exclude that during testing it might be necessary to include electrodes on specimens of material. Horizontal function: Short term and endurance tests for electrical and electronic materials alone and in simple combinations. Horizontal safety function: Test methods for resistance to tracking.

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the world's leading organization for the preparation and publication of international standards for electrical, electronic, and related technologies. Founded in 1906, the IEC provides a global platform for companies, industries, and governments to meet, discuss, and develop the international standards they require.
A Technical Committee (TC) in IEC is a group of experts responsible for developing international standards in a specific technical area. TCs are composed of national member body delegates and work through consensus to create standards that meet global industry needs. Each TC may have subcommittees (SCs) and working groups (WGs) for specialized topics.
