CEN/TC 155/WG 2 is a Working Group within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It is named "Evaluation methods and requirements specific for plastics piping systems in regard to effects on quality of water intended for human consumption" and is responsible for: Preparation of test methods and proposals for requirements with regard to water intended for human consumption: 1) Migration assessment; 2) Odour, taste, turbidity and colour; 3) Microbiological growth. This committee has published 1 standards.
CEN/TC 155/WG 2 develops CEN standards. The scope of work includes: Preparation of test methods and proposals for requirements with regard to water intended for human consumption: 1) Migration assessment; 2) Odour, taste, turbidity and colour; 3) Microbiological growth. Currently, there are 1 published standards from this working group.
The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) is a public standards organization that brings together the national standardization bodies of 34 European countries. CEN provides a platform for developing European Standards (ENs) and other technical documents in relation to various products, materials, services, and processes, supporting the European Single Market.
A Working Group in CEN is a specialized group responsible for developing standards or technical work within a defined scope. These bodies bring together international experts to create consensus-based standards that support global trade, safety, and interoperability.
This Prestandard is applicable to plastics pipes, joints and fittings to be used for the transport of water intended for human consumption and raw water used for the manufacture of water intended for human consumption.
It gives guidance on:
1) number of successive migration periods to be carried out;
2) how to interpret M values calculated from successive migration periods;
3) a method for converting M values into values that reflect field use conditions;
4) acceptance criteria for the duplicate M values obtained by testing in accordance with EN ISO 8795.
