FOREWORD
This amendment has been prepared by IEC technical committee 55: Winding wires.
The text of this amendment is based on the following documents:

Full information on the voting for the approval of this amendment can be found in the report on
voting indicated in the above table.
The committee has decided that the contents of this amendment and the base publication will
remain unchanged until the stability date indicated on the IEC web site under
"http://webstore.iec.ch" in the data related to the specific publication. At this date, the
publication will be

• replaced by a revised edition, or

1 Scope
Delete the third paragraph, the dashed items and the example from the Scope.

In addition, when reference is made to a winding wire according to a standard of the IEC 60317
series mentioned under Clause 2, the following information is given in the description:

– nominal conductor diameter in millimetres;
– grade.

4.1 Conductor diameter
After the third paragraph of this subclause, add the following new paragraph:
For intermediate nominal conductor diameters, the minimum increase figure corresponding to
the next larger nominal conductor diameter applies.
