Ta del IEC 60684 podaja zahteve za dva tipa gibkih, ognjevarnih ter toplotno krčljivih poliolefinskih cevi za splošne namene. Za to cev je bilo ugotovljeno, da je primerna za uporabo pri temperaturah do 125 °C. – Tip A – Visoko ognjevarna – Tip B – Ognjevarna. Minimalne predložene in maksimalne zajete notranje premere bo določil proizvajalec; le-ti bodo ustrezali minimalni debelini stene, podani v Razpredelnici 2. Običajno je na voljo z velikostjo odprte cevi do 75 mm in v naslednjih barvah:  črna, rjava, bela, rdeča, rumena, zelena, modra, oranžna, vijoličasta, siva in rumeno/zelena. Materiali, skladni s to specifikacijo, ustrezajo vzpostavljenim ravnem delovanja. Vendar mora uporabnik material za določeno uporabo izbrati na podlagi dejanskih zahtev za ustrezno delovanje pri takšni uporabi, in ne le na podlagi same specifikacije.
