This ENV specifies a test method for the determination of the durability of handand power operated reclining and tilting mechanisms. It also specifies test methods for the determination of durability of mechanisms for converting sofas and chairs into beds. Test methods for strength and durability of the stucture are not included, for which references shall be made to prEN 1728:1998 and to EN 1725. It does not apply to testing electrical components except for their func tion as part of the mechanism under test, nor does it apply to seating which comes within the scope of the medical device directive.
Wohnmöbel - Sitzmöbel - Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Dauerhaltbarkeit von Neige- und Wippmechaniken und Funktionsmechaniken für Liegesofas
Diese Europäische Vornorm legt ein Prüfverfahren für hand- und motorbetriebene Neige- und Wippmechaniken fest. Sie legt auch Prüfverfahren für die Dauerhaltbarkeit der Mechaniken von Bettsofas und -sesseln fest. Prüfverfahren für die Festigkeit und Dauerhaltbarkeit des Gestelles sind nicht enthalten. Hierfür gelten EN 1725 und prEN 1728:1998.

Cette pré-norme prescrit également des méthodes d'essais pour la détermination de la durabilité des mécanismes pour transformer en lits des canapés ou des fauteuils. Ne sont pas incluses les méthodes d'essai pour la résistance et la durabilité de la structure pour lesquelles on peut se référer au prEN 1728:1998 et à l'EN 1725.
