This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for baby walking frames, intended to be used from when the child is able to sit up by itself until the child is able to walk by itself. The requirements of this standard concern exclusively the safety of baby walking frames.  This European Standard does not apply to the type of walking frame in which the child remains at the same place during use, to the baby walking frames for therapeutical and curative purposes and to those relying on inflatable parts to support the child.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die sicherheitstechnischen Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Kinderlaufhilfen fest, die von einem Alter an verwendet werden, in dem das Kind schon selbständig sitzen kann, bis zu dem Alter, in dem es selbständig laufen kann.  Die Anforderungen dieser Norm beziehen sich ausschließlich auf die Sicherheit von Kinderlaufhilfen.  Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Kinderlaufhilfen, bei denen sich das Kind bei Gebrauch nicht von der Stelle fortbewegt, Kinderlaufhilfen für therapeutische Zwecke und Heilbehandlungen und nicht für solche, bei denen das Kind durch aufblasbare Teile gestützt wird.
