  • Target net suspension height: h1 = 152.5 mm above the playing surface (with specified adjustment ranges).
  • For Class A the upright post cross-section must be circumscribed by a 22 mm square.
  • Limits on horizontal projection and size: e.g. horizontal part projection across table surface ≤ 100 mm, width ≤ 45 mm (Class A), full outside height ≤ 80 mm.
  • Special channel provision: a channel at least 4 mm wide with bottom no more than 5 mm above the table surface to allow net mesh close to the table.

• Net-supporting posts and attachments

  • Posts may be permanently attached or removable (e.g., screw clamp, spring clamp).
  • Attachment systems must be easy to fit, resist net tension, and not damage the tabletop.
  • Under-table projection limits: for Class A attaching devices ≤ 100 mm under the table and ≤ 50 mm wide; for classes B–D some limits extend to 300 mm length.

• Safety

  • No parts liable to injure players or damage the tabletop.
  • Spring clamps must provide a safety clearance of at least 12 mm when removed.
  • Changes in shape (height, thickness, width) must not create sharp edges.

• Test methods

  • Requirements are verified by measurement, visual inspection, tactile or functional testing as appropriate.
