39.040.20 - Clocks

This document specifies the terms and definitions, and the signal receiving general measurement method for radio-controlled clocks. It is applicable to the analogical or/and liquid crystal display or/and LED display radio-controlled clocks, and the radio-controlled clock movements can also refer to it.

ISO 19235:2015 specifies the basic parameters, requirements, and testing methods of timing accuracy for analogue quartz clocks, hereinafter referred to as "the quartz clock". This International Standard applies to analogue quartz table and wall clocks which the oscillator frequency is 32 768 Hz and the nominal voltage is DC 1,5 V. ISO 13074:2012 specifies the fitting dimensions of movements to hands. It is applicable to analogue quartz table and wall clock movements, with and without alarm, that have the following properties: minute wheel shafts with an outer diameter of between 1,3 mm and 3,6 mm; hour wheel, minute wheel, second wheel and alarm wheel shafts made of metal and plastic material. ISO 13074:2012 can be referenced for other types of analogue quartz clock movements.

Deals with the safety of electric clocks having a rated voltage not more than 250 V. As far as practicle, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home. However, in general, it does not take into account - the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision; - playing with the appliance by young children.

This Standard applies to electronic taximeters, hereinafter referred to by the general term taximeters, to be installed on public hire vehicles (taxis or cabs) which, with the aid of electronic devices, calculate and indicate the amount to be paid by the passenger of the taxi.
