International regulation of the textile business
International regulation of the textile industry
Production in the textile industry is growing every year, thus increasing the number of companies in this market. If we are talking about the modern conditions of competition that exists in the world market, then it is necessary to understand that managers need to look for new ways of finding the advantages of their product. For our part, we advise you first of all to pay attention to the quality of the product you are creating. Today, to meet the needs of the buyer. They pay great attention to product quality and safety. The international standards that we have collected for you in this article will help you with this. They contain the most relevant information that will help you qualitatively improve your work. If you choose the path of innovation and implementation of provisions contained in international standards in your work, you get the opportunity to surpass your competitors and get new loyal customers. In turn, this will increase your company's profits and allow you to increase your market share. If you are ready for this, then we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the description of international standards that we have prepared for you today, and you can access the full text using the links at the end of the article.
Leather — Test for adhesion of finish
ISO 11644:2022(MAIN)
Production of clothing from leather requires a special technology, as this material is very demanding. For companies working in this field, it is very important to understand the specifics of all work processes. The international standard that we offer for your perusal can help you in this.
This document specifies a method for measuring the adhesion of the finish to leather or the adhesion between two adjacent layers of the finish. The method is valid for all finished flexible leathers with a smooth surface that can be bonded to an adherent plate without the adhesive penetrating into the finish. Preliminary experiments can be necessary to determine whether these conditions are met. This test method applies to finished leathers with a thick finish-coat. The method specified in this document does not apply to unpigmented articles or articles without a continuous coating layer, such as:
— nubuk;
— aniline;
— pull-up;
— suede;
— perforated leather.
This international standard was created so that you have a better understanding of the characteristics of leather as a material for the manufacture of clothing. You can also use it as a guide to help you audit your work processes. You can read the full text on our website.
Protective clothing - Protection against heat and fire - Method of test: Evaluation of materials and material assemblies when exposed to a source of radiant heat (ISO 6942:2022)
SIST EN ISO 6942:2022(MAIN)
A separate branch of the textile industry is the production of special protective clothing, which must perform a special function. For example, it can be fire protection. These products must be reliable. We offer you an international standard that defines the technology for checking the finished product for resistance to radiation heat.
This document specifies two complementary methods (method A and method B) for determining the behavior of materials for heat protective clothing subjected to heat radiation. These tests are carried out on representative single or multi-layer textiles or other materials intended for clothing for protection against heat. They are also applicable to assemblies, which correspond to the overall build up of a heat protective clothing assembly with or without underclothing, Method A serves for visual assessment of any changes in the material after the action of heat radiation. With method B the protective effect of the materials is determined. The materials may be tested either by both methods or only by one of them. The tests according to these two methods serve to classify materials; however, to be able to make a statement or prediction as to the suitability of a material for protective clothing additional criteria must be taken into account. Since the tests are carried out at room temperature the results do not necessarily correspond to the behavior of the materials at higher ambient temperatures and therefore are only to a limited extent suitable for predicting the performance of the protective clothing made from the materials under test.
We advise you to use this international standard in your work if you are involved in the production of protective clothing. If you have any questions after reading this document, you can ask our specialists who are waiting for you on our website using the link below.
Textiles and textile products - Organic fluorine - Part 1: Determination of non-volatile compounds by extraction method using liquid chromatography
SIST EN 17681-1:2022(MAIN)
The production of clothes can sometimes have a negative impact on the environment, namely due to the formation of volatile compounds. That is why it is important for companies to be able to control this moment. In particular, you can do this successfully thanks to the information that is collected for you in this international standard.
This part of the standard specifies a test method (using liquid chromatography, LC) for detection and quantification of all extractable neutral, ionic, perfluorinated and polyfluorinated non-volatile substances in textile products (for example, in fabrics treated with fluorochemical finishes and in coated fabrics). Classes of volatile and non volatile compounds (regulated and of concern) in Table 1 include acids, salt acids, esters, amides, telomers, sulfonates, sulfonamides and sulfonamidalcohols.
Corporate social responsibility involves caring for the environment. In particular, for this, you should familiarize yourself with this international standard, which will be your helper in reducing the negative impact on the environment. You can find the full text of the document on our website at the link below.
Textiles and textile products - Organic fluorine - Part 2: Determination of volatile compounds by extraction method using gas chromatography
SIST EN 17681-2:2022(MAIN)
We have already mentioned above that companies operating in the textile industry should also think about social responsibility and control the negative impact of the results of their activities on the environment. Taking this fact into account, we suggest you familiarize yourself with the continuation of the previous international standard.
This part of the standard specifies a test method (using gas chromatography, GC) for detection and quantification of al l extractable perfluorinated and polyfluorinated v ol at i le substances in textile products (for example, in fabrics treated with fluoro-chemical finishes and in coated fabrics). Classes of volatile and non volatile (Part 1 of this Standard) compounds (regulated and of concern) in Table 1 include acids, salt acids, esters, amides, telomers, sulfonates, sulfonamides and sulfonamidalcohols.
This document is a logical continuation of the previous international standard, which contains additions on the issue of detection of volatile compounds. If you have any questions about any international standard, you can ask our specialists using the link on our website.
