ISO/TS 17321-4:2016 specifies requirements for a programmable light emission system to produce various spectral radiance distributions intended for DSC colour characterization applications. NOTE 1 Evaluation metrics are described in this part of ISO 17321. These evaluations metrics are intended to provide "Figure of Merit (goodness)" relating to the ability of the device to produce arbitrary spectral power distributions. NOTE 2 This part of ISO 17321 applies to a programmable light emission system composed of LEDs. However, it can be applied to light emitting devices such as quantum dots, organic LEDs, laser diodes and so forth. NOTE 3 If spiky spectral reproduction is required, devices which have more spiky spectral light emission are intended to be used.

ISO 17321-1:2012 specifies colour stimuli, metrology, and test procedures for the colour characterization of a digital still camera (DSC) to be used for photography and graphic technology. Two methods are provided, one using narrow spectral band illumination and the other using a spectrally and colorimetrically calibrated target. Except for a specific set of permitted data operations, these DSC data are raw.

ISO/TR 17321-2:2012 provides information about methods for determining scene analysis transforms based on the minimization of errors in estimated scene or focal-plane colourimetry, including corresponding colourimetry. These transforms are limited in applicability to raw DSC image data. ISO/TR 17321-2:2012 concerns only the creation and encoding of scene-referred and focal-plane-referred image data.

ISO 17321-1:2006 specifies colour stimuli, metrology, and test procedures for the colour characterization of a digital still camera (DSC) to be used for photography and graphic technology. Two methods are provided, one using narrow spectral band illumination and the other using a spectrally and colorimetrically calibrated target. Except for a specific set of permitted data operations, these DSC data are raw. ISO 17321-1:2006 does not specify the methods for deriving transformations from raw DSC data in order to estimate scene colorimetry.
